About Us
Anne Lucey Designs is a distinctive garden design studio and contracting firm. Our projects have taken us up and down the east coast and to the Bahamas where we’ve created unique pleasure gardens that are inviting, dynamic, functional, and beautiful. We work with existing conditions to enhance the natural wonder of the space, while creating a balance between nature and the built world. Our gardens are successful because they have undergone a thorough & thoughtful design process, a detailed execution, and follow up care that is specific towards the needs of the plantings and the clients. Anne believes in working on one installation at a time and is on site for every install, ensuring high quality, consistency, and perfection.

Anne Lucey has been gardening and designing landscapes since 2001. A graduate from the University of Delaware, with a MS in Plant and Soil Sciences, Anne’s focus is on creating sustainable yet aesthetically pleasing landscapes. Using the natural world for both the inspiration and the pallet, nature is highlighted and its beauty enhanced to create ecologically sensitive outdoor spaces. Anne is passionate about plant placement and you will often hearing her repeat the mantra “right plant, right place”. She has worked in private, public, and resort gardens in Florida, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, South Carolina and The Bahamas. She has published articles in The Journal of Environmental Horticulture and the Transportation Research Record. Anne’s love for the environment, ecology, plants, design, and the great outdoors, combine to help feed her desire to create and enhance a nature based aesthetic in her designs.

Our Process
Through a nature based design process, we believe in loosening the landscape corset, to create spaces that are both dynamic and inviting, yet functional and low maintenance. Sensitive to regional context, plants and materials are carefully selected to contribute to ecologically balanced spaces, which reduce the need for chemicals, in order to promote spaces that maintain balance and harmony with nature. At Anne Lucey Designs, we pride ourselves on working successfully with clients over time, to create beautiful and functional outdoor living spaces that reflect their needs, desires, interests, and lifestyles.
We are a firm that provides design, build, and landscape maintenance services, which means that we are able to fully manage our projects from concept to completion and beyond. We work with clients to create a detailed design plan to meet their goals, then our team works to construct and install their new landscape. Through the comprehensive services we provide, we are able to consistently and efficiently manage clients projects throughout the process.
